Hello!
My name is Janie and I am the designer and creator of The Lucky Sixpence, a wife, a mum of two (an active toddler and a fur baby) and lets be honest, a bit of a wedding geek (who watches far too much 'Say Yes to the Dress!). The Lucky Sixpence all started because I wanted a completely unique and vintage headpiece which matched my wedding styling but I couldn't find anything that worked. I love a good hunt around an antiques shop or vintage fair and one day found a beautiful paste 1920's belt buckle. It was perfect. I teamed it up with some Swarovski crystals on a double band and ta-da - my bridal band! I had so many compliments and people asking me to make something for them, so I thought "why not go for it and do it properly?". My style has developed and I now make a range of jewellery and headpiece using vintage elements but also I use the vintage style to work with non vintage elements. I also cater for the non 'bridey bride' - designing pieces for 'alternative looks', headpieces for special occasions as well as working to a brief to create pieces for styled shoots.
As well as having a range of one of a kind vintage pieces available to buy (see the shop) I specialise in a bespoke hair accessories and jewellery making service which allows you to wear unique accessories designed and created especially for you.
