Local business wins prestigious National Inclusive Wedding Award

On Thursday 20th November 2025, local business,The Lucky Sixpence received the award for Best Alternative Wedding Accessories at the Quirky Wedding Awards, the UK’s only Wedding Awards celebrating alternative, inclusive, accessible, and unique wedding suppliers. In addition to this Janie won the award for Sustainability which is judged across all categories.

The Lucky Sixpence received the award at the National Final in Birmingham, outshining hundreds of applicants from across the UK.

The awards were judged by industry experts using a unique secret shopper method, examining their websites, social media profiles and reviews from the perspective of a potential client. The applicants were assessed on four main areas of their business – Inclusivity & Accessibility, Sustainability, Customer Service and Uniqueness.

The Lucky Sixpence is a sustainable and inclusive handmade hair accessory and jewellery business founded by Janie, who helps individuals reflect their authentic selves by creating unique designs with story, ethics and soul.
Janie combines her passion for individuality and craftsmanship with eco- conscious practices in order to deliver a range of themed collections and
bespoke commissions; often using reworked vintage elements, locally sourced materials and clients own sentimental items.Janie's mission is to create meaningful, high-quality designs for all, while fostering a welcoming, safe space for browsing, shopping, and connection.
Based in her solar-powered studio in Devon, she ensures every creation reflects her commitment to sustainability, individuality, and timeless beauty.

The Quirky Wedding Awards are the only alternative Wedding Awards in the UK and are run by Quirky Weddings , who also run the Quirky Wedding Fayre and Quirky Weddings Magazine.
