Timeless elegance meets contemporary accents in this styled shoot set within the dramatic historic architecture of Custom House. Perched on the picturesque waterfront of Plymouth’s Barbican, almost within touching distance of the harbour, the Victorian building exudes grandeur – from the sweeping curves of its stone façade to the lofty ceilings and ornate detailing of its light-filled interiors.
“This styled shoot was designed to capture classic elegance and intimate romance,” says Briony, who coordinated the shoot. “Set within this grand 19th-century building, we wanted to capture the natural chemistry of this real couple.”
The styling complements the scale and beauty of the celebration space while allowing the architecture to shine. Natural light pours across a grand fireplace, styled with a broken arch of creamy blooms framing the ceremony setting, before leading the eye towards an elegant tablescape. Crisp whites and soft nude-peach accents create a palette of understated luxury, with gold candleholders, delicate glassware and linens layered with creamy florals.
“From the classic bouquet and neutral palette to the piano and champagne tower, the styling elements and details balance classic sophistication with a modern wedding twist,” says Briony.
The refined aesthetic continues with the couple. The bride wears a fitted crepe gown featuring a chic basque waist, her glamorous curls cascading over her shoulders, complemented by radiant makeup and gold jewellery. The groom opts for a classic navy ensemble — relaxed yet refined.
