The Promise of Spring

The Promise of Spring

Spring flowers, modern bridal fashion and delicate styling at Cornwall's Tredudwell Manor

Capturing the first blooms of spring, this styled shoot celebrates the promise of longer days filled with natural beauty and new beginnings. Shot at Tredudwell Manor on Cornwall’s south coast, the setting is rich in wild romance. From clifftop meadows scattered with wildflowers to rolling countryside and sweeping sea views, the venue’s captivating blend of coast and country provides a breathtaking backdrop, bathed in the dreamlike light of early spring.

The outdoor reception is a celebration of the blossom and flowering trees surrounding the manor. A trestle table adorned with seasonal blooms including hyacinths, wisteria and heart-shaped lamprocapnos carries a delicate palette of lilac, cherry blossom pink and Cloud Dancer white. Mixed-metal candelabras add a subtle regal flourish, while clear glassware, mint-green charger plates and crisp white linens lend a fresh contemporary finish.

A single-tier wedding cake adorned with fresh strawberries and royal icing strikes a beautiful balance between simplicity and intricate craftsmanship. Served alongside blush fizz in coupe glasses and colourful macarons, the styling feels sweet yet wonderfully understated.

The fashion is every bit as thoughtfully considered as the setting. “I create bridal wear that’s romantic yet unconventional, pieces that embody a light-hearted approach to bridal dressing,” says designer Flora Fletcher. “An important part of my design process is ensuring a sense of freedom and personality, one that feels as joyful as it does refined.”

A striking strapless gown showcases regal-inspired couture, pairing a silk organza-encased corset with a dramatic basque waistline and softly gathered muslin skirt. Styled with a silk organza scarf and flower-beaded pearl earrings, it perfectly balances structure with softness. “The silhouette shifts between sculpted and fluid as it is worn,” explains Flora.

The second look is equally captivating: an off-the-shoulder wool jumper paired with ivory satin cotton corseted pantaloons featuring gathered leg detailing and silk flower earrings. “The exaggerated volume creates movement and character, lending the silhouette a playful quality that feels effortless rather than formal,” says Flora. The groom completes the editorial in chocolate trousers, polished brogues and an open-collared white shirt finished with a pink floral boutonniere, perfectly complementing the editorial's relaxed, romantic spirit.
