Occupying an elevated position above the Devon countryside, Ashmoor House enjoys an idyllic setting where rolling hills stretch towards the wild beauty of Dartmoor. Just a mile from the market town of Ashburton, the property feels wonderfully tucked away, surrounded by gardens and open skies.

Formerly Lavender House Hotel, the venue is undergoing an extensive transformation by the team behind Cornwall's award-winning wedding venue, The Barn at Pengelly. Bringing their experience and thoughtful approach to hospitality to Devon, the team is creating a stylish country house wedding venue where beautiful surroundings, exceptional food and a welcoming atmosphere take centre stage.

Whether you imagine exchanging vows beneath open skies or gathering your loved ones for an intimate indoor ceremony, Ashmoor House offers a choice of settings for that all-important moment.

Outside, a ceremony pagoda provides a romantic backdrop, with sweeping views across the Dartmoor landscape. Inside, a dedicated ceremony room creates an elegant setting whatever the season, with the added benefit of becoming the dance floor later in the day.

The grounds offer plenty of opportunities for photographs, from romantic portraits against the countryside panorama to relaxed moments with family and friends in the gardens.

Celebrate in style

At the heart of Ashmoor House are its beautifully designed celebration spaces, created to bring everyone together without interrupting the flow of the day.

For weddings of up to 150 guests, the Main Hall and Garden Room can be used independently, while larger celebrations can make use of both spaces together, accommodating up to 200 guests. Classic round-table dining lends a timeless, sociable feel to the wedding breakfast, while the separate ceremony space means there's no need for a room turnaround before the evening party begins.

The interiors provide an elegant canvas for couples to make their own, whether that means abundant florals, romantic candlelight or a more pared-back, contemporary aesthetic. The venue also offers styling packages, with the team taking care of the finishing touches before guests arrive.
