Perched on the edge of Marazion, where the land gives way to the sands of the sweeping beach and ancient causeway to St Michael’s Mount, The Godolphin boasts a truly breathtaking vantage point across one of the UK’s most awe-inspiring locations.
Light and airy, a palette of coastal colours and snug touches lend a laidback, easy ambience to the contemporary interiors, offering gorgeous spots to relax and gaze at the sweep of blue, the historic castle and the comings and goings of boats across the water and people across the cobbled causeway.
A sublime setting for a stylish seaside soirée, this styled shoot offers inspiration for a relaxed coastal celebration, reflective of the luxe, modern feel of The Godolphin. Drawing on nature’s hues, a palette of soft whites, earthy browns and greys blends with the blues of the sea and skyline, with warm candlelight and amber tones adding depth.
“We used a wealth of natural materials and height to create a sophisticated boho feel on the tablescapes,” explains Hazel Parsons of Out of the Ordinary Weddings (outoftheordinaryweddings.com) and Keeping It Vintage (keepingitvintage.co.uk) who coordinated and styled the shoot. “We draped soft grey cheesecloth table runners across the tables to add depth and texture to the look. Layering played a big part in creating the finished style.”
The scene is scattered with the textures and shapes of the sea, such as the coral-like tea light holders and detailing on the buttercream cake, while washes of soft white and blue carry from the wildly beautiful flowers to the stationery. Marrying before a macramé ceremony arch draped with sea holly and foliage, the bride and groom blend modern sophistication with a relaxed boho vibe. With St Michael’s Mount beyond, and the murmur of the tide and the call of the seabirds, it is difficult to imagine a more enchanting scene.
