On the edge of the Blackdown Hills, deep in the heart of 160 acres of organic farmland, lies a wedding venue that is flexible and versatile as it is breathtakingly beautiful. Designed for bespoke, exclusive use weddings, Upton Barn comprises a cluster of charming, traditional buildings and a pretty walled garden, all of which have been lovingly restored and renovated to create a private, picturesque and peaceful venue in a dreamy corner of Devon's rolling countryside.

The Cider Barn is the beating heart of the venue. The historic building has been restored with impeccable attention to aesthetics and detail: original oak beams criss-cross the lofty ceiling and full-height glazing ushers in views across the picture-perfect grounds, while ensuring the space is bathed in natural light.

The Cider Barn can host ceremonies for up to 120 guests. The blank canvas setting can be decorated according to your vision, whether it's simple bunting, fairy lights or rustic garlands hanging from the beams or a stylised backdrop. There's even a raised area, which makes a perfect stage for a band or DJ, a polished dance floor and atmospheric lighting system. With a contemporary bar adjoining the barn, everyone can mingle freely and happily, taking in their stunning surroundings while enjoying their tipple of choice.

The Stable Barn with its elegant lighting, warm timber interiors and well stocked bar can seat up to 156 for your wedding breakfast. The stunning floor to ceiling window with captivating views across the paddocks makes a great backdrop or feature for your wedding photographs.

While the warm tones and cosy ambience make the barn a snug and romantic setting for a winter wedding, the picturesque grounds lend themselves to the dreamiest of summer celebrations. Located at the end of a beautiful natural aisle lined with lavender, the handcrafted oak arbour, set within the walled garden, is an idyllic al fresco backdrop for ceremonies. The walled garden also makes a perfect spot for a sun-soaked drinks reception: imagine drinking in the heady scent of lavender and sweeping views across the Blackdown Hills, while mingling with your nearest and dearest. For large-scale events, a marquee can be erected in front of the main house overlooking the pond and fountain. As night falls, the walled garden is magically lit with up-lights, while firepits flicker in the stone-flagged courtyard. 

The bespoke approach continues with the catering: your menu will be designed around your tastes, whether it's an informal barbecue, traditional roast, bangers and mash or exquisite fine dining served family-style on trestle tables or around circular tables in the Stable Barn. Wedding menus can be created at the delicious-sounding taster days.
