Couples might gather around the fire on the first evening, celebrate beneath the trees and continue the festivities over breakfast the following morning.

Celebrate among the trees

Couples can hold a celebrant-led ceremony or blessing in one of the estate’s outdoor spaces, surrounded by woodland and open countryside.

Those wishing to marry legally beforehand can arrange a register-office ceremony, while the historic Norman church of St Colan stands just 200 yards from the entrance to the estate.

After the vows, celebrations can move between the woodland, lawns and flexible event areas. Marquees and other covered spaces can be arranged, giving couples a blank canvas for dining, music and dancing while retaining the estate’s informal outdoor character.

Plan your own Wedfest

From April to September, Fir Hill can host festival-style weddings for up to 150 guests. The secluded grounds offer plenty of room for feasting, live music, firepits, games and relaxed gatherings beneath the open sky.

Couples can select their own caterers, entertainment and suppliers, allowing every element of the celebration to reflect their tastes. The events team can also assist with sourcing marquees, catering and practical additions where required.

During the quieter months, the estate welcomes winter weddings for smaller groups. These celebrations make atmospheric use of the woodland setting and are ideal for couples planning an intimate, pared-back occasion.

Stay beneath the stars

From spring to early autumn, guests can stay onsite in luxury yurts and bell tents, turning the wedding into a memorable countryside escape.

Up to 13 yurts are available, accommodating as many as 70 guests depending on the arrangement. Each yurt offers a comfortable glamping experience, while the wider estate encourages guests to slow down and enjoy time together in nature.

Summer wedding accommodation is generally booked for a minimum of two nights. Although onsite accommodation is unavailable during winter, hotels and self-catering properties can be found nearby in Newquay and the surrounding countryside.
