A tucked-away corner of Cornwall’s south coast, where meadows and wooded valleys slip down to the Helford River, is home to Carwinion House, a new exclusive-use wedding venue comprising breathtakingly beautiful gardens, expansive grounds and an 18th century country house. In this styled shoot, the venue’s Raj marquee, which nestles the walled garden with views across wildflowers, lakes and mature trees, is the canvas for a celebration immersed in the romance of summer.
Rich in Mediterranean influences, a palette of zesty yellows and bold blues pop against crisp whites and clean lines. “We wanted to celebrate the essence of summer, drawing on the blue and white of the summer skyline and yellow hues from the summer sun,” explains coordinator and stylist Hazel Parsons of Out of the Ordinary Weddings (outoftheordinaryweddings.com). “We added garden herbs, citrus fruits, greenery from the garden, pot plants and candles to create an Italian kitchen garden feel.”
The Mediterranean accents continue with the bold prints, ceramic tile place settings and sweet flavour of limoncello – stirring the senses with a gorgeous medley of smells, tastes and textures, which makes the prospect of a relaxed summer celebration so alluring.
The bride and groom are the epitome of sweet summer love. From the floral accents of the groom’s ensemble to the bloom-filled embellishment of the bridal gown and earrings, the couple carry the romance of the garden setting as they take a loved-up stroll through the sun-kissed gardens of this captivating country idyll.
