There is a subtlety to the styling, drama in the colours and an overall textured decadence in the effect of this styled shoot.

"I wanted to create something totally different, new and exciting," says Helen Hopkins of Pudding Bridge, who organised the shoot. "The scheme includes garnets, plums and soft pinks with luxurious textures of velvet, leather, silk and tweed. I had a vision of it being wild and opulent, yet laid-back."





The backdrop of Bridwell, a grand country house owned by the Mountbatten family, allows the details of the shoot to shine. The food looks almost too good to eat: pastel-pink macarons are elegantly displayed as a cake-style tower, and finished with fresh flowers and blueberries. The ornate tiered cake takes pride of place on a vintage dresser, while juicy cherries edged with gold leaf, fresh figs and blackberries bring a sumptuous quality to the sugar-dusted desserts.

 



"We created a stunning tablescape with a bed of velvet coupled with deep tones in the florals and soft, draped napkins in delicate pink," explains Helen. "The mix of textures and tones feels so luxurious and decadent."
