Perched on the wave-lapped edge of Cornwall’s far west, Prussia Cove is a place of secluded, rocky beaches, rugged romance and rich history. There’s a quiet sense of timelessness here – a beguiling, untamed beauty where rolling fields and craggy cliffs tumble towards hidden coves and the restless Atlantic beyond.
It’s this evocative landscape – alongside the salt-weathered stone and palpable atmosphere of Porth-en-Alls – that inspired this styled shoot. “The aim was to create a look that didn’t just sit within the space, but truly belonged to it,” says Amie Baddeley of Out of the Ordinary Event Hire
The barn, with its ancient timbers and whisper of history, became the canvas. Characterful whitewashed walls set the tone for a palette of ochre and mustard, punctuated with soft bursts of yellow and layered with earthy, organic textures that felt both grounded and refined.
Bathed in an afternoon glow, the space felt effortlessly classic and understated. “We leaned into the glow of the afternoon,” says Amie, “allowing deep, romantic shadows to play against shafts of light pouring through the windows.”
Intentional details brought the setting to life: vintage cut glassware catching and scattering the light, the buttery glow of soft linens and candlelight adding a gentle flicker. Tables were dressed in ochre and mustard tones, with wild, sprawling florals echoing the surrounding landscape.
“By bringing the outside in, we wanted to blur the lines between the wild exterior and the interior sanctuary,” says Amie. Raw linens, weathered wood and tactile, earthy textures create a timeless, lived-in elegance – as though the scene had evolved over decades rather than hours. The bride’s gown – an airy tulle silhouette adorned with delicate dotted detail and intricate florals – lends an ethereal softness to the setting.
The result is a sun-drenched, soulful vision – a landscape, and a moment, steeped in romance and quiet enchantment.
