New tree-planting project for Bliss Bridal Gowns

The wonderful moment of finding and purchasing your dream dress comes with a positive step for the planet thanks to the earth-friendly initiative at Bliss Bridal Gowns in Newquay. Owner Tracy Ashton has planted a tree for every bride who has purchased their dress from the boutique since 2021. She has now partnered with Plant One Cornwall, a not-for-profit woodland creation company dedicated to restoring native woodlands across the county. “It allows me to offset some of my carbon emissions by planting trees and improving biodiversity,” says Tracy. “Cornwall has the least amount of trees in Europe, at only eight percent, and Plant One works with landowners, business and communities to bring back much needed woodlands. They create woodlands for habitat, biodiversity and community well-being.”

Each bride will receive a certificate and know exactly where their tree will be planted. With a plethora of styles from designers including Rebecca Ingram, Abella by Allure and Ella Rosa offering everything from classic clean lines to whimsical romance, brides can look forward to the joy of finding ‘the one’ in the knowledge that a new tree will be growing in Cornish soil when she wears it for her big day. “I believe this is a unique and beautiful long-lasting way for the bride to add an element of sustainability to her wedding,” says Tracy.
