Introducing - Get Wed Online!

A team of Cornish wedding businesses have partnered together to lift the spirits of disappointed brides and grooms from all over World who have had to cancel or postpone their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wedding and event planners Rebecca Edwards & Hazel Parsons from Out of the Ordinary Weddings, have partnered with the award-winning team of Cornish Celebrants, Nicola and Denise, creative wedding blogger, Marie from Eeek! and talented videographer Richard from I do Film Weddings to create an online platform to provide Celebrant ceremonies, parties and events.

The idea came from helping over 20 couples postpone or cancel their weddings over the last 4 weeks. "Some of our couple's relatives won't make it to the new date, or they are isolating in different places or they are key workers, or they have lost their jobs. At this point in time no-one knows what the future has in store," explains Hazel.

"Get Wed Online allows couples to hold a commitment style ceremony with their family and friends, wherever they are in the world. We help them set up the wedding, including ideas for decor, lighting and dress code, we manage their guest list and they have their own personalised ceremony with a dedicated Celebrant. Whether they are together or a million miles apart it is still possible and they can share their day with those that matter most."

"We aren't suggesting that everyone has a celebrant ceremony online, instead, we are offering families a chance to come together and celebrate. We are also running the Key Worker Win A Wedding Competition for every month we are in lockdown."

"Whilst the ceremony isn't legally binding, our virtual ceremonies will allow couples to mark the occasion of their planned wedding date, and if they wish they can share the ceremony with friends and family. Every couple will have the opportunity to have an edited highlights video of their celebration."

"The celebrations do not stop there!" she adds. "We will also facilitate other events such as birthday parties, proposals, renewal of vows or anniversaries.  As these are such unusual times with family members potentially having to stay apart, we have designed a celebration especially for them, our Family Ties ceremony."

Given the current sacrifices our Key Workers are making to keep us safe and well, we all felt that we would like to take this opportunity to give something back and say 'Thank You'! Once a month, the 'Win Your Wedding Competition' for Key Workers will be run and the winner will receive a free online ceremony. Key Workers can either nominate themselves or can be nominated by a friend, colleague or the wider public. The winner will be presented with the Friends and Family package from the Get Wed Online website.
