A Georgian gem at Treseren

The Wed team had the fortune to spend a balmy day in May shooting our bridal fashion story, Dream A Little Dream, in the gardens of Treseren. From paths meandering amidst vibrant rhododendrons and camellias, a spacious lawn for vows beneath the 200-year-old walnut tree and a south-facing terrace, it is a secluded and incredibly picturesque setting for an al fresco wedding. Inside, the elegantly styled rooms of the Georgian house offer a sublime canvas for indoor ceremonies, receptions and relaxed gatherings.

Perfect for an intimate destination wedding, you can enjoy a three-day house party for your nearest and dearest in complete privacy here. There’s accommodation for 12 and the latest addition, Loveday’s, is one of the many draws of a stay in this welcoming and characterful setting. With its vintage furnishings and gold leaf ceiling, the new cocktail bar is a chic spot to enjoy cocktails inspired by Treseren’s history (the former mine captain owner is thought to have been the inspiration for Winston Graham’s Captain Ross Poldark) – we loved the Poldark ‘n’ Stormy and Tin Miner’s Daughter.

With the sands of Holywell Bay and the rugged cliffscape of the north cliffs a short drive away, you’re perfectly positioned to enjoy some of Cornwall’s most extraordinary landscapes while you savour a wonderful wedding in this tucked-away gem.
