Luxe and unexpected detailing sets the scene for this striking barn wedding at Stennack Farm, where rustic romance is elevated with a refined edge. “I wanted to reimagine the setting entirely,” says stylist Victoria Wesson. “To take the sense of opulence you might expect in a grand hotel and place it, unapologetically, in the heart of a working farm.”
Eschewing the traditional pared-back barn aesthetic, the look leans into opulence, layering eclectic furnishings, statement lighting and sumptuous décor to create a rural celebration brimming with wow factor.
Drapery, cascading blooms and aerial florals combine with a mix of high-, mid- and low-level lighting to form an instantly impactful setting. From there, it’s the finer details that further elevate the space, showcasing a highly creative approach to styling.
Candles, fairy lights and lanterns soften the look, setting an intimate tone that’s heightened by the serpentine banqueting table – a contemporary centrepiece that adds a sense of movement and modern drama. Tables are dressed with crystal glassware, gold flatware and intricate openwork porcelain charger plates, lending texture and visual interest. Meanwhile, the photo booth – complete with leopard-print chairs, a chandelier-and-palm backdrop and an abundance of props – injects a bold splash of colour and fun.
The two-tier cake, adorned with fresh blooms in varying shades of pink, echoes the floristry’s palette whilst continuing the shoot’s theme of soft decadence.
Blending seamlessly into the styling while still commanding their own moment in the spotlight, the bride and groom embody modern glamour with a bespoke twist. She is effortlessly chic in a pleated satin off-the-shoulder gown with a thigh-high split, built-in train and sleek updo. His Cornish tartan kilt is paired with a traditional Prince Charlie jacket, three-button waistcoat and coordinating tie, finished with a sporran and cream kilt hose for a perfectly polished flourish.
