Drakes Fine Jewellers in Plymouth offer up their top tips for super styling your bridal ensemble...

"Every girl loves to accessorise and it doesn't get more exciting than accessorising your dream wedding dress!  It's a bride's prerogative to take the limelight on the day and it's the little details that will make all the difference. With so much choice available here's a few pointers to help get you started...

The dress comes first
Purchase your wedding dress first and then enjoy choosing jewellery that will complement and enhance it beautifully.  Take a photo of your dress and find a jeweller who will have fun working with you to create the perfect look.

What's your style?
Work with the style of your dress; if it's plain you can be more experimental with your jewellery, if it's embellished take this into account being careful not to overpower this feature.

DON'T wait until the last minute
Don't let your jewellery be an afterthought.  Purchase it in time for your dress fitting so you can have fun seeing your look come together. It also leaves time for last minute changes or additions; after all - a girl's allowed to change her mind!

Be aware of your hair
If your locks are going to be flowing on the day, avoid dainty earrings that will go unnoticed; statement earrings will add a touch of glamour to your look. If you're opting for an 'up do', classic diamond studs never fail to impress and are a perfect investment piece.

Work within your budget
Not every bride is lucky enough to be able to adorn themselves in diamonds on the day but fear not, there are so many other beautiful options. Purchase one special piece and wear it with something borrowed; it's amazing what treasures Grans and Great Aunties have hidden away! Choose high quality cubic zirconia jewellery such as Diamonfire for a more affordable wow factor.

DON'T overdo it
Don't under accessorise but perhaps more importantly - don't over accessorise! If you're opting for a statement necklace, a simple bracelet and studs will work best, so stay clear of the big chandelier earrings!"
