"We chose to get married at the quarry as it's two minutes from the house where I grew up and I've always loved it there. As soon as I showed it to Steve, he was sold," says Kelly. With 150ft cliffs towering above a tranquil quarry lake and twin zip wires descending to a lush lawn, the venue perfectly balanced the fun factor with picture-perfect scenery. Opting for a colour scheme of bright shades and blue and white stripes, the palette aptly reflected the playful, summery vibe of the day.

For a pretty and personal touch, Kelly wore a dress made by her mum. "It took hours and many fittings but was totally worth it," she says. The cheery, vibrant flowers also came courtesy of her mum, who grew them in her garden, while a friend carefully arranged the bouquets and buttonholes. The bridesmaids wore different dresses, tying their looks together with matching electric blue sashes; the groomsmen, meanwhile, teamed their own blue suits with matching blue and white ties.

After a church ceremony in the village where Kelly grew up - "I had always dreamed of getting married there so it was amazing for it to be happening" - everyone moved onto the quarry where guests had the option to zip wire into the tipi reception. "I was a bit sceptical at first but it was fab and worked brilliantly! Even my two-year-old nephew did it!" recalls Kelly.

A carnival atmosphere unfolded in the sunshine as guests mingled over bubbly, mini pasties, Burts Chips and an oyster bar. Settling inside the tipis, each table was presented with a picnic basket filled with ham, quiches, salads, hot potatoes, chutney and bread. Chocolate roulade and pavlova rounded off the feast in sweetly delicious style. As dusk fell, live band The Move-Ons and freshly cooked pizza went down a treat. "It turned into a big party and people even ended up taking a dip in the quarry!" reflects Kelly. "The whole day was fab and everything we wanted!
