Two Cornish hotels and wedding venues have teamed up to create a series of summer tasting events, to celebrate the best of Cornish food and drink. The Alverton Hotel in Truro and The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth will offer customers the chance to meet the chefs, watch food being carefully prepared and cooked and indulge in six courses of Cornish cuisine with an accompanying drinks flight.

Combining city and coast, these influences have shaped the menu by showcasing speciality dishes from each hotel. The menu features only Cornish food and drink from the very best local suppliers, including Camel Valley Vineyard, Matthews Stevens, Duchy Game, Curds & Croust, Stevenson Newlyn, L George Butchers and Tregothnan tea.

"It's important that we take the time to showcase the best food and drink from our special county," says Nick Hodges, Executive Chef for the two hotels. "Canapes will be served on our terrace, where you can watch the chefs prepare and cook the food in front of you - that's how fresh it is, before moving inside to the restaurant for the remaining courses."

Its a great opportunity to take a look inside these two beautiful wedding venues, and try the food that you could be serving to your guests. The first event takes place on Thursday 26th July at The Greenbank and is held at The Alverton two weeks later on Thursday 9th August. The next event is on Thursday 23rd August at The Greenbank and again at The Alverton on Thursday 6th September. Each event starts at 7pm for canapes and welcome drinks and costs £55 per person.

There is limited availability so early booking is advisable, by calling The Alverton on 01872 276633 or emailing, and calling The Greenback on 01326 312 400 or emailing
