Allie and Eden met while working at Burberry HQ in London. Colleagues became friends, before – somewhat inevitably – something more. “We slowly realised the connection that everyone was pointing out as super obvious,” laughs Allie. A London-New York long-distance chapter followed, shaped by life’s inevitable highs and lows, before the couple settled in London with Dexter, their very spoiled dog.

Eden proposed during a trip to visit Allie’s friends in Jersey. “It was sunset, high up on a bench overlooking Corbière Lighthouse,” she recalls. “It was perfect – just us, as the sky turned inky blue.”

From the outset, the couple knew they wanted a destination wedding in Cornwall. “It's been a big part of my life since childhood,” explains Allie. They took over Boconnoc Estate for three days, including the cottages, welcoming 85 guests. “Boconnoc is quite frankly magical – we knew it was the one as we drove down the winding, tree-lined road and saw the house emerge from the Cornish mist.”

A timeless palette of off-whites, dark green and soft pink was chosen “to complement the natural drama of Boconnoc, with a luxury edge.” Supporting local suppliers was central to their vision, with seasonal Cornish floristry playing a key role. “We married in early May, so spring was at its best – peonies, ranunculus and roses in soft peach, creams and whites,” says Allie. For the day, she wore a silk halterneck gown with a mikado overskirt and long veil, paired with deep-green heels, while Eden chose a bespoke black tuxedo.

Thoughtful details brought the aesthetic together, from the bespoke stationery suite to green velvet bow place settings, embroidered with each guest’s initials in gold thread. “It was a nod to meeting at Burberry, where monogramming was a big theme – and it felt fitting to create something bespoke people could keep.”

The celebrations unfolded across the entire weekend. A pizza van in the courtyard on Friday night set a relaxed tone, allowing Allie and Eden to mingle ahead of the big day, before a ceremony at Boconnoc’s 13th-century church blended traditional and modern prayer. One moment particularly stands out for the couple. “Our friends and family popping confetti cannons and whooping as we drove down in the vintage car was pretty spectacular,” recalls Allie. “The sun was out in all her glory and we were handed a glass of Camel Valley fizz as we climbed out – it was heaven, knowing the fun could begin!”

Canapés, drinks and lawn games followed to a string quartet soundtrack, with an ice-cream van providing welcome refreshment in the sunshine. After Allie’s dad’s speech, guests sat down to a Cornish feast of pepper dulce scallops, roasted spring lamb and baked cod. As the sun dipped, cocktails were served on the wisteria-clad terrace, setting the scene for cutting and serving the giant pavlova and live music from The Herringbone Cocktail Club. The celebrations continued in the Drawing Room, where the couple took to the floor for their first dance to XO by John Mayer, before guests danced into the night, enjoyed a vintage photo booth and kept fuelled with pasties, local cheeses, negronis and cider. The evening closed with sparklers under the night sky.

Festivities continued the next day with breakfast in the Garden Room, a trip to Charlestown, a relaxed barbecue at Boconnoc Stableyard and an outdoor cinema beneath the stars.

When asked for planning advice, Allie is clear: “Agree early on what matters most to you both, and where you’re aligned on spending. For us, it was making sure our guests were never hungry or thirsty – and investing in photography and film to ensure we can relive it all when we’re in our eighties.”
