Initially connecting via a dating app, Tiffanie and Sam’s real-life connection quickly proved undeniable. “What started as a simple first date soon turned into something really special – it truly was love at first sight,” says Tiffanie of their romantic beginnings. “From that day over eight years ago, we’ve been completely inseparable.”

When it came to the proposal, Sam kept things deliberately personal. While on a trip to Exmoor, he had initially planned to pop the question during a dog walk at a kissing gate, before losing his nerve and waiting until they reached their country bolthole. “It felt incredibly personal and perfectly set,” she recalls. “We cried all night with pure happiness.”

It was clear early on that the couple wanted a small wedding that reflected the nature of their relationship. Planned by Tiffanie herself, their September celebration at The Cornish Place was attended by just 16 of their closest friends and family. “It felt peaceful and romantic,” she says. “Having such a small guest list created an atmosphere that was relaxed, emotional and full of love.”

A theme of ‘whimsical pink’ brought a playful yet stylish sense of individuality to the day. “I wanted it to feel timeless and elegant while still full of colour and personality,” explains Tiffanie. “I loved stepping away from typical wedding trends and adding personal touches throughout.” Styling was largely DIY, with colourful candles and tambourines adding warmth and fun, while allowing the natural beauty of The Cornish Place to shine.

The stationery set the tone from the outset, followed by florals arranged by Tiffanie’s sister. “Having her involved was incredibly special,” says Tiffanie. “She understood my style completely and created fun, vibrant arrangements that added so much character to the day.”

For the ceremony, Tiffanie’s dad walked her up the hill to meet Sam, with sweeping views across the Cornish countryside. “Every word spoken held meaning, and there wasn’t a dry eye,” she says.

Drinks and canapés followed at the bar to a saxophone soundtrack before guests settled in the Glasshouse for a bespoke feast prepared by a private chef. Each detail was tailored to individual guests’ preferences, with starters including crispy king prawns, halloumi fries and Asian duck salad, followed by plated barbecue dishes of sticky pulled pork, garlic and lemon thyme chicken, beef fillet and salmon skewers.

After dinner, the couple shared their first dance in the Piggery – a moment Tiffanie describes as “quiet and romantic,” centred on being present and celebrating everything they had built together. From there, the evening gave way to relaxed celebrations, with Tiffanie and Sam dancing the night away alongside their friends and family.

Looking back, it’s the ease of the day that stands out most. “With such a small guest list, we were able to truly spend time with everyone and enjoy every moment without rushing,” reflects Tiffanie.

Her advice to couples planning their own wedding is simple: “Don’t get caught up in trends or what you think a wedding should be. Focus on what feels right for you as a couple. Keep it personal, trust your instincts and remember that the most important thing is the love you’re celebrating.”
