Jaz and George' wedding at Lusty Glaze

Jaz and George’s story began back in their school days, when they met at 15. “We were friends for a few years, always the ones with the weird sense of humour who made each other laugh,” says Jaz. “We started dating and have been together ever since!”

Cornwall soon became a place close to their hearts, so it felt only fitting when George chose the county as the place to propose. During an October getaway, he popped the question on a clifftop walk above the dramatic coastline of Kynance Cove. “I was looking out at the sea, and when I turned around, he was down on one knee,” says Jaz. “I said yes, and we were riding the high for the whole next week.”

The Cornish coast played a starring role again on their wedding day, with Lusty Glaze providing the secluded and relaxed setting. “We had the entire beach to ourselves for the day,” says Jaz. The couple chose a playful palette of soft pinks, powder blues, cherry reds and sunset oranges with warm creams. Flowers carried the scheme beautifully, while disco-era flair added a joyful, retro edge.

“We were inspired by a ‘70s old-school disco vibe as we love to dance to that music and we’re a bit obsessed with disco balls,” says Jaz. Family and friends helped create a silver curtain that radiated from the marquee’s centre. “It looked fabulous and really brought the party vibe.” A vintage-style cake made by their friend Susie took pride of place on a custom plinth made by George’s dad, while mussel shell place names doubled as favours and a mini surfboard made a fitting guest book.

Despite the Cornish drizzle, Jaz and George stuck with their plan for an outdoor ceremony. “Our two brothers, Oliver and Max, danced down the aisle to Hot Stuff by Donna Summer throwing confetti over guests,” laughs Jaz. The ceremony featured heartfelt readings and symbolic rituals: a sand-pouring ceremony and a ring-warming ritual where every guest held and blessed the couple’s rings. “This was such a fun way to get our guests more involved,” she reflects.

One of Jaz’s most treasured moments came just after the vows. “Our one-year-old daughter, Bluebell, broke free from my mum’s lap and wandered down the aisle, walking through the confetti. She was the real star of the show.” After dancing their way back down the aisle to We Are Family by Sister Sledge, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes while a magician wowed the crowd. Dinner was a laid-back barbecue featuring pulled smoked beef brisket, lemon-drizzled chicken, baked Cornish hake, Eton mess and banoffee cheesecake. A few guests even braced the sea for a dip before the evening’s festivities kicked off.

The party opened with a first dance to More Than a Woman by the Bee Gees. “It wasn’t slick or flawless, but it was so fun and everyone absolutely loved it!” laughs Jaz. A conga line, mosh pit, late-night pizzas and trip to Sailors wrapped up a night to remember.

For George, one of the standout moments came just before the evening party. “The weather had been on and off all day, so we'd given up on a sunset," he says. "Then, suddenly, the low sun broke through the clouds. We were all running and shouting ‘sunset!’ It was such a fun, special moment.”

“Try not to stress over tiny details,” says Jaz by word of advice. “You set the vibe for the day – if you're relaxed and having a good time, your guests will be too. Just be present.”
