Kitley House Hotel is named 'Wedding Venue of the Year'

If it's dedicated service, meticulous planning and an award-winning venue you're after, then Kitley House Hotel might well be the perfect fit.
The team at the South Devon venue is celebrating having been named 'Wedding Venue of the Year' in the prestigious Devon Tourism Awards 2019, having scooped Gold in the wedding category against stiff competition from other leading venues alongside Silver in the 'Business Events Venue' category.
The Awards saw a record of 240 entries across 27 different categories, with 167 entrants - including Kitley - receiving judge visits as part of a comprehensive judging process. Judges described Kitley as a wedding venue that was "charming, with a real sense of grandeur" and a business events venue providing "the perfect backdrop for any meeting or conference".
"We are over the moon to have won not one, but two awards," says Managing Director, Spike Bastard. "We know that Kitley is a fabulous place to get married and now it's official - the best wedding venue in Devon in 2019! Our two crystal trophies are fantastic recognition of all the hard work and commitment shown by our team over the last year.'
The venue is also delighted to announce the appointment of a new Wedding Planner, Nicole West, who has already set about creating new wedding packages while stripping things back to basics to provide greater flexibility for couples to tailor their day to suit their wishes and personality - from intimate, mid-week affairs to grand celebrations with exclusive use of the 19-bedroom hotel.
'We are flexible here at Kitley. We are not black and white like some venues. We try to work around the couple. My approach is 'Tell me what you want and I will try my hardest to make it happen'. That's the way I like to work,' she enthuses.
Nicole previously worked for several years at Woodbury Park, near Exeter, and for a short time at St. Mellion in Cornwall before making the move to Kitley. 'I was invited to Kitley to get to know the team before I started my new role to make sure I would be happy here. I'm pleased to say, we all get on really well. It's a small team and there's very much a family atmosphere. I love it here,' she says.
