Introducing Flour & Flame

If the sound (and taste) of homemade wood-fired pizza served from a vintage horse box sounds right up your street, then look no further than Flour and Flame. Based in Exeter, Simon and Mike of Flour and Flame work all over the south-west, serving their much-loved Neapolitan-style pizzas. In their own words: “Simon is a chef and likes making pizza. Mike is Italian and likes eating pizza. Together we sell our favourite Neapolitan-style pizza, which has a deliciously chewy crust and a thin base.” As well as offering a huge range of toppings and being able to cater for most dietary requirements, the duo also offer sweet and savoury buffets. With a keen focus on sustainability, every pizza is made from scratch from local ingredients, including fruits, vegetables and herbs from Exeter, while the wood – a combination of ash, oak and apple – comes from a farm six miles outside the city.
“We bloody love proper pizza,” says Simon. “We have fun with what we do, and we take the stress out of everything we do by being prepared, so we can have a bit of banter with the guests when it comes to pizza time.” Complete with a selection of bottled beers and ciders from Branscombe Brewery, Flour and Flame promises to be a sure-fire crowd-pleaser for any wedding reception!
