A FEAST FOR THE SENSES

As I sit down to write, the Cornish skies are a brilliant blue, threaded with wisps of white cloud. Flowers are in bloom and I’m still basking in the golden glow of a wedding I recently attended in a secluded Cornish nook, where warm sunshine, blue skies and an atmosphere brimming with love created an unforgettable day. Amid this blossom-filled spring – and with the promise of long summer days just ahead – it feels like the perfect moment to embrace inspiration that stirs the senses, a theme woven through every page of this issue of Wed. Consider this your invitation to revel in it all: vibrant colour palettes, abundant florals, mood-lifting styling and thoughtful sensory details.

You’ll find no shortage of inspiration, beginning with our styled shoots. Wild Romance transports us to the ruggedly beautiful edge of west Cornwall, where warm hues, earthy textures and untamed florals create a timelessly romantic scene immersed in nature. Then there’s Salt Air & Summer Light, a vibrant vision of modern beach wedding styling at Perranporth, awash with sun-kissed tones, sweeping sands and golden Atlantic light. Meanwhile, Painted in Colour unfolds at Scorrier House, where rich shades and layered romance set the tone for a contemporary countryside celebration.

In celebration of the season’s natural beauty, flowers thread their way throughout this issue. In The Power of Flowers, some of Cornwall’s most talented florists share their advice for creating wedding flowers that feel beautifully personal, from ceremony to celebration, while Garland Glossary offers a stylish guide to the world of wedding blooms.

For styling inspiration, Setting the Scene sees three wedding stylists reveal the looks defining the current wedding landscape, from floral installations and draped textiles to darker, gothic-romance aesthetics – all designed to delight the senses and bring your vision vividly to life. And then there’s colour. In The Art of Colour, wedding stylist Nikki Sherriff of Knots & Kisses shares her expert advice for crafting a cohesive palette.

Alongside the sensory pleasures of Heaven Scent and the dazzling sparkle of Forever Diamonds, this issue is also filled with thoughtful advice. Life coach Jo Irving shares calming guidance for managing pre-wedding nerves and staying present in Calm Before the Aisle, while therapist Shan Merchant explores the realities of newlywed life – alongside insights from real couples – in The First Year Files.

And, of course, love remains at the heart of it all. In Got Wed, we celebrate real weddings overflowing with personality, from Elize and Jay’s joy-filled celebration at
Eden Project to Aardy and Kajal’s spectacular three-day wedding at Boconnoc House. Each story is rich with individuality, emotion and unforgettable moments.

Here’s to a beautiful season of weddings, celebration and love ahead.
