A decade of dazzling weddings at this dreamy Devon venue
Set within 100 acres of rolling parkland, just six miles from Exeter, Rockbeare Manor is a Regency country house that feels made for modern love stories. Exclusive-use and effortlessly romantic, it offers everything a couple could dream of: ceremony and reception spaces with soul, fine food, flawless service, luxe bedrooms and grounds designed for picture-perfect memories.
The manor’s transformation is a decade-long love story in itself. Andy and Aimée Carveth took on the estate in 2015, determined to breathe new life into a property that had been home to the Follett family since 1855 and, more recently, the beloved residence of Caroline Griffith-Williams and Gerard Noel. When the upkeep finally became too much, fate intervened: a chance introduction led Andy and Aimee to reimagine Rockbeare as one of Devon’s most coveted wedding destinations.

“What greeted us was daunting: from roof to cellars, inside and out, everything needed attention,” recalls Aimee. “But where others saw peeling paint and decaying sash windows, we saw the warmth and beauty of this charming home. Over the following months, our team poured heart and soul into every corner of the Manor.”
Nine months later, the manor opened in June 2016, complete with elegantly revived reception rooms, a new Ballroom seating up to 160 and 12 bedrooms blending period features and modern comforts.
Fast-forward to today and Rockbeare Manor has become synonymous with dream celebrations. From sweeping staircases to golden-hour gardens, every detail feels designed for moments you’ll never forget. The awards cabinet is equally dazzling, with recent accolades including Wedding Venue of the Year at the 2023 Devon Tourism Awards and the South West Tourism Awards, plus Gold for Best Wedding Venue in Devon at the Muddy Stiletto Awards in both 2023 and 2024.

“Renovating Rockbeare Manor was a whirlwind of dedication and detail,” says Aimee. “We’re deeply grateful to every couple, guest and team member who’s been part of our story so far. Together we’ve transformed an at-risk estate into a vibrant, welcoming space filled with love and celebration.”
