Magical inspiration for a rustic winter wedding

Wedding styling: ethereal winter with a rustic twist

Rustic and romantic inspiration, filled with richly coloured flowers and foliage, for a winter wedding

"Trenderway Farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and we wanted to capture the natural undertones and rustic setting," says Hazel of Out of the Ordinary Events, who coordinated this styled shoot at the rural venue, nestled close to Cornwall's south coast.

Launching the venue's new indoor ceremony room in the atmospheric setting of a Cornish stone barn, the shoot celebrates the beauty and cosiness of a winter wedding at Trenderway. "We wanted to showcase the effortless beauty this new ceremony space has to offer in an elegant, sophisticated, stylish and romantic way, creating an ethereal winter wedding feel," says Hazel.

The barn is rich in natural textures, its lofty wooden beams entwined with branches while twinkling lights glint at the worn stone walls. An abundance of greenery sits atop a wooden tabletop, the maple browns and forest greens bringing a sense of the outdoors inside and the flickering light of tapered candles adding to the ambience. In celebrating the natural features of the venue, the shoot echoes the eco-friendly ethos of Trenderway, which uses 100% renewable electricity from sustainable sources, biomass heating and a 'zero to landfill' commitment.

The bride, with her dramatic smoky eyes and bold lips, looks striking amongst the candles, her bouquet a heady mix of delicate flowers and foliage that carry through into her oversized crown.

The potent pop of dark red brings wintery magic to the shoot, in the standout flowers adorning the cake and the detailing on the handcrafted stationery. Far from bleak, a winter wedding can be cosy, warming, rich in colour and texture - and overflowing with the love of a winter bride and her rugged groom.
