Spring ushers in a season of renewal, where blossoming florals, dreamy pastels and soft golden light set the stage for a wedding filled with ethereal beauty. Captured at the breathtaking Lost Music Hall, this styled shoot encapsulates the magic of new beginnings against a canvas of wild natural beauty.
Nestled in a secluded South Hams valley, this enchanting venue sits on the historic Great Ambrook estate. “At this luxury elopement venue near Totnes, there’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all,” says wedding planner and stylist Fern Godfrey who styled the shoot. “With orchards, walled gardens and a grand music room among its ceremony spaces, The Lost Music Hall is a truly bespoke offering.”
The styling is a love letter to spring, with lush greens, creamy whites and mauve and rose-pink tones woven through the florals and décor, echoing the gardens bursting to life with paper-white daffodils and fritillaries. Potted floral displays and a statement floral floral centrepiece frame the entrance and aisle, while inside the wood-panelled dining room, the low-level, delicate floral arrangements add to the air of understated romance.
The tablescape is effortlessly elegant, with a dainty printed tablecloth, bare rattan chairs and pastel pink tapered candles in glass votives evoking soft, pastoral charm. Illustrated stationery with ornate calligraphy and a two-tier moss green cake with intricate royal icing add a vintage-kitsch, homespun aesthetic, striking the perfect balance between refined and whimsical.
The bridal look is pure romance, with a dance-ready gown featuring floral embroidery, delicate feathers and beads, complete with gauzy puff sleeves, a square neckline and lace-up back – a dreamy blend of boho, retro and modern couture. A loose updo adorned with a floral headpiece, pearl-drop earrings and a blousy bouquet complete the look with an air of effortless romance. Not to be outdone by his bride, the groom wears a green wool three-piece suit, tan leather brogues and a petal-pink tie, complementing the fresh, nature-inspired palette.
As the sun spills across the gardens, the couple kicks back in relaxed style, enjoying al fresco cocktails under the pergola, cutting the cake and twirling into their first dance beneath the spring sky.
