Bold bridal hair and makeup inspiration

It’s a case of in with the bold with these head-turning beauty looks, designed to make you stand out in show-stopping style

Cast aside, for a moment, the natural and subtle make-up currently making waves in wedding world. Embracing high-octane glamour, this beautifully bold beauty shoot offers a more eye-catching aesthetic, screaming confidence and striking style from every shimmering eyelid and statement lip.

“I wanted to showcase colourful, full glamour make-up, to break from the norm and the softer more traditional looks,” says make-up artist Jasmine Elle, who organised the shoot. “To enlighten brides, showcasing bold and striking bridal wear, bridal make-up and hair, proving you can diversify from the ‘norm’ and still look and feel unique as well as look beautiful.”

A coolly confident mood carries throughout the shoot. From smoky eyes and sweeps of metallic colour to bold lips, each look is dazzlingly dramatic, arresting on first glance, and then settling into a sophisticated beauty.

“I wanted the brides to feel exquisitely confident in their minimal bridal styling, and mixed a contemporary jumpsuit, a chic and minimal silk dress, and a fluffy tutu with glamorous full make-up and distinctive hair designs,” says Jasmine.

Top knots, fishtail braids and slick finger waves break away from the classic updo, with each bride modelling a unique twist on the traditional, creating modern, fresh and beautiful results. Specially designed bridal accessories from Devon-based designer Hey Jules! add the twinkling finishing touch.

“I decided we needed a fashion editorial photographer to take these images, someone who had previous fashion brief experience, as well as bridal photography,” says Jasmine on her choice of photographer Emma Barrow to capture the strong images. “On the day, we had a ‘girl boss’ crew who delivered on the brief!”
