"The vibe of the shoot was relaxed, fun and about strong empowered women. It's bridal gowns, but we avoided bridal cliches at all costs!" explains Lovely Bridal's assistant bridal stylist, Catherine Burns.

Showcasing the latest offerings from British bridal brand Charlie Brear in all their show-stealing glory, this recent bridal fashion shoot encapsulates the label's fashion-forward, uber cool personality against a backdrop of Exeter street scenes. Charlie Brear's high-fashion edge is accentuated by the bold and eclectic accessorising and layering of multiple looks to show just how versatile the head-turning designs can be.

"There was a strict 'no posing like Disney princess' rule and we wanted badass cool girl vibes because that's what Charlie Brear screams to us! The 2020 Freedom in Love collection is modern and fashion-led for brides wanting that little bit of edge, and includes some beautiful stand-alone classic gowns, but also some styling pieces that let you switch up your look throughout the day. We really went to town on the sheath gowns with gold accessories and jewellery, and paired them with 'I just fell out of bed like this' hair and natural make-up looks," elaborates Catherine of the shoot's brief.

The full circle Farah overskirt in shimmering gold dash print organza complete with train was paired with the perfectly-cut minimalist beauty of the Amine dress, demonstrating how easy it is to mix and match separate styles to achieve a signature, yet utterly bespoke look.

Then there's Soraya: a gorgeous gold dash organza overdress featuring a deep V-neck and a demi train, which can work with a number of other pieces from the fabulous 'Freedom in Love' collection. Or for something more simplistic, the Trine dress oozes sophistication and epitomises the minimalist movement with its chic low cowl back (add a lace back panel or sleeves for extra impact and sense of romance).
