"It was love at first sight for us both," says Amy of her first encounter with Leon. The fairytale continued with a Parisian proposal in the Louvre, where Leon popped the question with a Swarovski crystal Disney ring. "I am a massive Disney fan," explains Amy.
The couple hired Trevenna for a whole weekend of celebrations, which allowed guests to relish the romantic, rural setting and mingle ahead of the day; starting the weekend in style, Amy and Leon hosted a special pre-celebration barbecue on the Friday evening to introduce everyone.
Trevenna was decked out with a series of details that followed the main colour scheme of champagne and blush "with a chilled out vintage feel", which was largely inspired by the wedding stationery. The pink rose motif of the stationery was also incorporated into the floral arrangements.
The ceremony, which featured Disney wedding readings, made for one of Amy's personal highlights, particularly "my dad's reaction when I walked down the stairs before the ceremony started. It was just me and him and he squeezed my arm sensing I was nervous and told me how amazing I looked. Then I locked eyes with Leon at the end of the aisle."
Following the ceremony, guests tucked into canapes and Cornish Orchards cider on the lawn before sitting down for a sumptuous three-course wedding breakfast comprising oodles of local flavours: a Cornish sharing platter, which included Cornish goat's cheese mousse, hummus and Cornish coppa ham with Trevenna homemade breads, roast beef sirloin with red onion marmalade, pork loin with apple and cider, chocolate fondant and Eton Mess completed the fantastic feast.
Favours took the lip-smacking form of individual white chocolate cupcakes inscribed with each guest's name, reflecting the white chocolate ganache covered wedding cake centrepiece.
The evening saw Chain Reaction Disco provide the party tunes as guests snacked on Cornish pasties and a Cornish cheese board.
Having returned from their road trip honeymoon around the USA, the newly-weds share some of their top tips for a memorable day. "Cherish every moment - we found it hard to prioritise enjoying the day and getting round to see everyone," comments Amy. "Make time for you to both be together. We were able to achieve this by disappearing twice with our photographers for more intimate alone shots including some gorgeous sunset shots on Bodmin Moor."
