Green Day

Grace and Jon's green-themed gathering at Enys Gardens

Having first locked eyes at a party, Grace and Jon's engagement comprised a romantic boat trip followed by a proposal on their favourite beach on The Roseland. 'We then had a swim and a 'sausage sizzle',' reveals Grace. 'It was dreamy.'-

Enys Gardens in Penryn provided the atmospheric backdrop for their wedding reception. Green ' the couple's favourite colour ' carried throughout the details, featuring alongside white in everything from the floristry and invitations to the bridesmaids' dresses and cake. The couple put their stylistic stamp on the historic house with an abundance of foliage and white blooms. 'We named our tables after herbs and used leaves for people's names. We also borrowed loads of houseplants to fill the bookshelves at Enys,' adds Grace.

A family friend's giant green truck made for perfectly coordinated wedding transport, while Grace finished her dazzling crystal encrusted gown with a gorgeous braided updo and a bouquet of lush green foliage dotted with white blooms.

Their beautifully personal service at Mawnan Old Church, which was decorated with foliage-filled chandeliers in keeping with the day's aesthetic, featured their favourite sea shanty 'Little Lize', poetry 'and plenty of loud, lovely singing by all our loved ones!', says Jon.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered in the sun-drenched grounds of Enys where mojitos were served alongside a host of nibbles, including sticky chicken skewers, beetroot borani, escabeche of mackerel and wood-roasted carrots, to a traditional Irish soundtrack by Krelys.

The speeches, which included a 'wedding rap' from the father of the bride, were delivered ahead of a sumptuous wedding breakfast of lamb with baharat-style seasoning, burnt aubergine with preserved fruit, a delicious array of sides and orange blossom panna cotta.

The Stone Roots kept the party in full swing throughout the evening. 'Holly and the band were incredible and got everyone dancing,' says Grace, who also enlisted the entertainment of Jenna Jazz's glitter face painting, 'which our guests loved!'."'The whole day far exceeded our expectations, our guests were all on fine form and the weather was wonderful,' summarises Grace of her and Jon's fun-filled day. 'We both loved singing 'Little Lize' in the church with our fantastic family and friends ' and the vows were super special for us,' she says of her standout moments.

-'Book the 'big things' like the venue, band, caterer, dresses and suits early, relax for a while and then do the rest during the couple of months before,' Grace offers as advice to couples setting out on their planning journey.  'Also, get your creative family and friends involved ' ours blew us away with their input!'
