The New Romance

The New Romance

Soft ivories, sculptural florals and Regency grandeur set the scene at Henlade House

Wrapped in rolling countryside on the edge of Taunton, Henlade House has opened its doors as Somerset’s newest wedding destination. A sister venue to Exeter’s Rockbeare Manor, as well as Somerset's Coombe Lodge and Priston Mill, it brings impeccable service and heritage-led grandeur to a rural setting. This styled shoot captures the magic of its light-flooded interiors and sweeping Regency architecture – spaces designed for celebrations that feel both elevated and effortlessly romantic.

The aesthetic unfolds in ethereal, old-world romance, softened through a lens of cinematic minimalism. “With Pantone naming Cloud Dancer as a defining wedding colour of 2026, it felt like the perfect time to explore a palette of soft ivories and warm creams,” explains concept creator Briony Bond, who collaborated with stylist Daisy Martin to shape the vision. The result feels timeless yet unmistakably modern.

Florals lead the narrative. Cloud-soft blooms spill across the tablescape in a restrained wash of ivory, layered with clear glassware, charger plates and slender white candles for a quietly luxurious finish. Sculptural clusters crown Perspex plinths for the ceremony, while a meadow of petals gathers around the cake – a vintage-inspired confection adorned with intricate buttercream icing. “I wanted to weave in warm candlelight and delicate pearl details to create a sense of softness and intimacy,” says Briony.

Craftsmanship underpins the entire look. Handmade, bespoke pieces by a collective of talented creatives elevate the aesthetic – tactile stationery, delicately piped patisserie and artful macarons bringing texture and personality to the pared-back palette.

Fashion follows suit. The gowns are exquisite studies in silk and linen, ethereal lace and meticulous craftsmanship – whimsical yet clean-lined. Veils embroidered with love-filled words add a poetic layer, complemented by a pearl-adorned crown and statement earrings. Soft waves and barely-there make-up enhance the bride’s natural beauty, while the groom’s sharp black tie anchors the look in timeless sophistication – completing the vision of a contemporary country house celebration that feels achingly fresh.
