Rebecca and Matt first met through mutual friends in a pub. “At first, he thought I was a bit too bubbly and loud,” she laughs, “but as we kept running into each other, things started to change. We found ourselves talking more and laughing together and soon became inseparable.”
Eighteen months later, Matt proposed during a trip to London, getting down on one knee at the top of the Sky Garden as the sun set behind them. “It was such a magical moment,” says Rebecca. “I couldn’t believe it! I said yes, and it was one of the happiest days of my life.”
Set on Cornwall’s south coast, Tredudwell Manor offered the perfect backdrop for their wedding. “It ticked every box we had, with its gorgeous outdoor space and breathtaking views,” she says. “The whole atmosphere felt romantic and inviting, making it easy to picture our day there.”
The couple chose a timeless aesthetic infused with a romantic twist – a soft palette of dusty blue, pink and peach, woven with luxe gold touches. The scheme carried beautifully through the florals, where delicate roses and hydrangeas nestled in eucalyptus, complemented by candlelight, gold cutlery, charger plates and textured linens.
Their outdoor ceremony in the amphitheatre was bathed in sunshine and soundtracked by harp and violin. “While we stood there, the sweet sounds of the Sea Strings duo filled the air, making the atmosphere even more magical,” says Rebecca. “It felt like a dream come true, surrounded by all our loved ones who came to celebrate with us.”
From ceremony to evening, entertainment was thoughtfully woven through every part of the celebration. The harp and string duo “created a warm and joyful atmosphere” says Rebecca as they mingled with family and friends in the sunshine during the drinks reception. Later, a pianist accompanied the wedding breakfast: a feast of the couple’s favourite dishes, including apple and cauliflower soup, cod, chicken and vegetable tart served with dauphinoise potatoes, and a trio of desserts: crème brûlée, pavlova and profiteroles.
Lawn games proved a hit with younger guests, while a magician wowed the crowd and a caricature artist captured playful portraits throughout the day.
As evening fell, Rebecca and Matt took to the dance floor for their first dance to Kodaline's The One. “It felt like just the two of us were in the room, sharing a special moment,” she says. “It was a beautiful experience that we will always remember, full of joy and love.”
Guests enjoyed a photo booth and s’mores bar before spilling out into the warm night for a showstopping sparkler tunnel and firework display. “It was a magical ending to a perfect day filled with love and celebration,” says Rebecca.
Looking back, the moment she walked down the aisle and caught her first glimpse of Matt stands out most. “As soon as our eyes met, we were both overcome with emotion, shedding tears of joy. It was a truly special moment that I will cherish forever.”
Her planning tip? “Book your wedding well in advance,” she says. “We secured our venue two years ahead, which gave us time to carefully choose our suppliers and made planning fun rather than overwhelming. Overall, planning together like this turned out to be a wonderful experience for us.”
