A new wedding venue is opening its doors in an achingly beautiful setting on Dartmoor. Nestled on the edge of the moor, just one mile from the charming streets of Ashburton, Ashmoor House occupies an elevated position overlooking rolling hills and open skies, surrounded by three acres of lush gardens.

 
Acquired by the team behind Cornwall’s award-winning wedding venue The Barn at Pengelly, the former Lavender House Hotel is currently undergoing an extensive renovation, reimagining the property as an exclusive-use country house wedding venue. The team will bring the warmth, attention to detail and exceptional guest experience that has earned The Barn at Pengelly a host of accolades, including Wedding Venue of the Year at the South West Wedding Awards.

The renovation will draw on the same considered approach to design, service and guest experience that has made The Barn at Pengelly such a sought-after venue. Think light-filled and beautifully styled celebration spaces, cosy lounges for unwinding before and after the festivities and a stunning ceremony room overlooking leafy gardens and Dartmoor’s dramatic heights. Flowing spaces will allow each wedding to unfold at its own pace, creating a celebration that feels secluded, relaxed and entirely personal.

 
Outside, a beautifully positioned pagoda provides a romantic setting for exchanging vows against the Dartmoor skyline, while 11 en-suite bedrooms mean your closest guests can stay on-site and wake to a slow Dartmoor morning together.
