Perched high on the cliffs between Sennen and St Just is a new wedding venue that is breathtaking in its beauty. We were lucky enough to use Hendra Cottage as the backdrop for our bridal fashion story, 'The Edge of the World', in the new Cornwall issue - and were awe-struck by not only the stylish and spacious interiors of the property, but also its surroundings.
Rare in its offerings, this coastal gem has a large lawn leading to lush fields that tumble down to the rolling Atlantic Ocean. Boasting far-reaching views across Land's End and Longships Lighthouse, it's a dream spot to host a wildly beautiful celebration on the clifftops, with a stunningly styled tipi set-up from Wild Tipi for up to 150 guests.
"We want people to relax and enjoy the house and area and not feel they are on a wedding conveyor belt," says owner, Alexei, who takes a highly personal approach to each wedding. Five luxurious bedrooms sleep up to nine guests, with each room boasting large beds, statement wallpaper and contemporary styling, many with luxe en suites offering the perfect sanctuary. The modern kitchen, complete with a long dining table ideal for entertaining, the comfortable lounge with a cosy fire, and the library-inspired snug all open out onto the vast garden where there's a wood-fired hot tub for soaking beneath the stars.
It's an outstanding spot for every element of your celebration - from the pre-wedding get- together to celebrating your union with loved ones and dancing into the night under Cornish skies. You might even be tempted to stay on for a relaxing clifftop honeymoon.
