One of Devon's most magical wedding venues has recently made several stunning additions to their gorgeous setting. Situated amongst 275 acres of breathtaking countryside in the centre of the county, Bovey Castle's rural position oozes wild romance, while the buildings present a host of spectacular spaces for ceremonies, receptions, parties and after-parties, from the high ceilinged Cathedral Room to the intimate Dartmoor Suite. You'll also find luxury and stylish accommodation for your guests, along with gourmet dining - meaning that everything is taken care of under one spectacular roof. You can even indulge in a spa session or organise a round of golf as part of an activity-laden long weekend wedding.
Then there's the estate's expansive grounds, which are home to landscaped gardens, rolling hills and a lake - in addition to two brand new features: a wildflower meadow and kitchen garden. Escape to the colourful meadow for newly wed photos amongst sublime surrounds, which "embodies a complex interplay between biodiversity, ecological stability, and aesthetic value." Then make your wedding an even greener affair by serving a lip-smacking menu fresh from Bovey's on-site garden kitchen and enjoying a real field to fork feast.
"Our garden not only provides fresh produce for culinary offerings but also serves as a tangible commitment to sustainable practices. By cultivating vegetables, herbs, and fruits on-site, we can reduce our reliance on external suppliers and lower our carbon footprint associated with transportation," they explain. From edible flowers and organic herbs such as sweet and lemon basil, coriander, parsley, sage, mint, lemon verbena, fennel and sorrel to vegetables including tomatoes, lettuces, spinach, spring onions, carrots, peas and mangetout, expect a wedding breakfast packed with homegrown flavour and goodness.
