A modern pre-Raphaelite reverie of rusts, greens and gorgeously ethereal touches

Having recently opened its doors for weddings, this styled shoot showcases the extraordinarily beautiful potential of a celebration at Hareston Manor. Tucked away amidst the rolling hills of the South Hams, the Jacobean manor house marries a palpable air of historic charm with enchanting scenery: think sweeping avenues of trees, manicured gardens sweeping down to a lake, and winding lanes brimming with primroses, violets and campions in the spring.

'Hareston Manor, with its 14th century chapel and gorgeous grounds, was the perfect backdrop for beautiful printed marquees by LPM Bohemia,' explains stylist and coordinator of the shoot, Nikki Sherriff of Knots & Kisses.

With its timeworn stone walls and period features, the venue's rich sense of history is beautifully contrasted with an evocative colour combination and styling for a laid-back modern wedding. 'The aim of the shoot was to create a modern take on a pre-Raphaelite sensibility with beautiful handcrafted touches and ethereal looks paired with an autumnal Arts & Crafts colour palette of pale greens and rich rusts, touches of fruit and William Morris prints,' says Nikki. 'We followed the day right through from getting ready and an intimate family-only ceremony in the chapel to a larger blessing on the lawn, celebrations in the drinks tent, a grazing food reception and beautiful outdoor seating and firepits.'

Abundant with foliage and fruit, the tablescape is a vision of natural beauty and enchanting hues, the beautiful canvas print of the tent echoing the harmonious aesthetic of William Morris's work. The rich colours weave their way through details such as the stationery and the flowers adorning the work-of-art cakes through to the groom's suit.

Embracing the warm palette with her gorgeous floral headdress, the bride embodies a modern take on pre-Raphaelite style with her billowing sleeves, abundant bouquet and soft hairstyle woven with vine-like jewels. Meanwhile, colourful dishes of grazing food arranged on rustic pallets and Kilner jars filled with mulled apple cider add vibrancy and flavour to the most memorable of celebrations in this exceptional setting.
