The rugged cliffs of the Devonshire coast bring raw beauty and rich colour to a wildly atmospheric wedding

A burning world away from the bright blues and dazzling azures of a classic beach shoot, the colours of this shoot are bursting with burnt oranges, browns and ambers. Far from a bleak aesthetic, it's a warm and robust look that exhibits Devon's diverse landscape, showcasing the red cliffs and coves along the coast between Exeter and Torquay.

"The inspiration was definitely those red and burnt orange colours within the landscape itself," says Nikki from Knots & Kisses, who organised the shoot. "The stunning dramatic skies and coastline showcase just how amazing an outdoor wedding in Devon could be."

Low tables and Moroccan-style seating and rugs create a glamorous yet relaxed beach picnic vibe, reigned in with a more traditional table setting replete with beautiful linens, tall tapered candles, and accents of natural agate and amber.

"Using natural materials such as linens, weathered wood and feathers was really important," says Nikki, who chose a range of wedding dresses dyed in natural patterns to work with the organic feel of the shoot. A feather-inspired cake, hammered silver jewellery, and dahlias and brown foliage all bring a rusted beauty to the scene, offset with an asymmetric floral arrangement on a triangular ceremony backdrop frame.

"The look for the model - red-haired of course to complement the colour palette - is dramatic and boho," says Nikki. "We wanted a strong editorial look with dark eyes and make-up, beautiful braids and the most stunning amber feather headdress."

An open firepit for the evening develops the hues further: coppery bronzed tones lit up by the burning embers and glowing flames, the bride a red-hot vision against the naturally striking backdrop of Ness Cove.
