Celebrant or Registrar? What’s the difference?

A Registrar takes care of the legal side of things. Their ceremonies tend to be formal, structured, and follow a set script. You likely won’t meet them before the big day, and there's limited flexibility when it comes to personalising the wording or the experience itself. Registrars also operate within tight time slots, often moving between multiple ceremonies in a day.

A Celebrant, on the other hand, gives you the freedom to create a ceremony that’s completely personal and deeply meaningful.
We’ll meet, connect, and I’ll get to know you properly—I genuinely care about telling your story in a way that feels true to you. There are no strict rules (unless you want them!), just the freedom to choose readings, rituals, music and words that speak to your relationship. It’s your day, your way.

I often describe it as writing for new friends—each ceremony is bespoke, heartfelt, and full of life and love. You can trust me to deliver something beautiful, memorable, and so you.

And don’t worry about the legal bit—many couples choose to complete the formalities before or after the big day, freeing them up to enjoy a ceremony that’s all about the emotion, not the paperwork.
