Little Silver House is perfectly situated in the North Devon countryside, on a hillside overlooking the river Taw in the valley below. The Victorian house is the perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding, with several licensed ceremony locations. Choose to get married in the charming spring-fed grotto by the pond, which can be lit by fairy lights or candles, or in Little Silver Pheasant, the bright blue Shepherd hut, which is surrounded by apple blossom in spring. For a larger party why not set up on the lawn with an arch to frame the view behind as you tie the knot, or on the veranda of the house with your guests arranged alongside you. The tiny Shepherd hut called a a 'Wivvy' in the garden by the house is an ideal dressing location for one of the wedding couple but can also hold a ceremony for smaller parties.
Adjoining the grounds of the house is a landscaped apple orchard where romantic and luxurious shepherd's huts have been nestled into terraces, each with a unique perspective on the changing landscape below, accessed by electric golf buggy and equipped with all mod cons including a private hot tub for each hut!
Up to eight of your guests can stay onsite in the shepherd's huts whilst the wedding couple enjoy the use of the large annexe, Little Silver Nugget, that also benefits from an award-winning private hot tub with extraordinary views.
Alternatively, the atrium of Little Silver Nugget can hold up to ten guests as well as the wedding couple and registrar after which guests can stop to toast the happy couple in the dining area or gardens.
The team at Little Silver are here to assist you as much or as little as you like. With expert knowledge and a hand-picked list of suppliers, they will help you create the wedding of your dreams. Your ceremony location and dining area can be decorated however you wish. We would love to be your witnesses if required.
Choose to stay for three nights during the weekend or midweek, giving you ample time to relax and enjoy the run up to your special day. The luxurious shepherd's huts offer a wonderful chance for a mini-moon if you'd like to stay longer. If you are lucky you may get to see a deer leap past early one morning or hear the owl hoot while you are relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. Sunrise and sunsets are truly memorable sat on the steps of your hut or on Nugget's small terrace. This is the countryside at its best.
North Devon is well known for its beautiful sandy beaches and dramatic coastline and is sandwiched between the national parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor. Close to the village of High Bickington, Little Silver House is perfectly situated for your countryside wedding, a relaxed and natural setting with which to celebrate with your nearest and dearest, perhaps followed with a walk on one of the nearby beaches and finished off with a wedding breakfast for up to 12 people in Nugget or even a boho picnic on the lawns!
