LOVE IS IN THE AIR

As I sit to write, green shoots are piercing the earth, gardens are shrugging off their dull winter palette and buds are bursting into bloom on the trees. Spring is well and truly here, and our thoughts are turning to the joy of spring and summer weddings: those long days of hazy sunshine, the air heavy with luscious florals, the golden evenings making merry with the people who make your heart sing.

From food to flowers, scents to styling, this issue is filled with gorgeous content to stir the senses as well as excitement for those heady, wedding-filled days ahead.

Nothing awakens the senses – or says wedding – quite like a carnival of flowers and the latest trends see both pared-back and statement blooms scoring style points for fashion-forward couples. See The Power of Petals for minimalist through to maximalist inspiration, while Garland Glossary is a handy guide to picking your perfect petals.

Your choice of flowers plays a key role in scenting your wedding and, in Scent With Love, we look at how fragrance can be used to elevate the sensory impact of your celebration while creating evocative memories for years to come.

Of course, food and drink are key to elevating your guests’ experience: from lip-smacking rum concoctions to gin-laden fizzes, Jo Fitch at The Buffalo serves up some flavour-packed cocktail ideas in The Taste of Summer.

Then there are the visuals. Some brilliantly creative wedding suppliers share their favourite looks for a wow-worthy celebration in Looks We Love. The beauty of Cornwall itself, however, promises to be the star of your wedding day. In Pitch Perfect, we serve up some expert advice, as well as some striking options, for planning a wedding under canvas in a glorious corner of the county.

And, as the new season was on the brink of bursting into bloom, we had the pleasure of spending the day shooting our bridal fashion story, The Look of Love. From clean, minimalist gowns to 1960s' inspired bridal beauty and crisp white blooms, the images showcase a seriously stunning collection of W-day looks in the elegant, light-filled spaces of Chapel House, a charming Georgian townhouse by the sea in Penzance.
