Boho meets vintage for timelessly beautiful bridal style

Wedding world is currently experiencing a cross-genre crush, where times, looks and tastes are colliding to magnificently idiosyncratic effect. Can't decide between vintage or modern bridal wear? Designers aren't making a distinction, allowing brides to borrow from multiple influences for a totally individualistic and timeless ensemble. Alternatively, rehash a family heirloom, vintage dress or add retro accessories for a beautifully bespoke and oh-so 'you' outfit.

This shoot shows you exactly how to blend a variety of aesthetics for gorgeously unique results, taking a country house as backdrop for a vintage-meets-boho-modern style makeover.

"We wanted to do a shoot that had a romantic feel within a country garden setting, and for that we used The Orangery at Mount Edgcumbe," explains hair and MUA, Kimberly Holland of KH Bridal.

"The 'boho' feel continues to be so popular and we wanted to show this look using a modern dress and a vintage one. The new dresses that emulate the boho/romantic look seem to take their inspiration from designs popular in the 70s. Frocks & Frills Bridal Studio lent us a dress that had a modern boho feel and then we were also able to use a dress and lace cape with hood, made and worn in the early 70s," she explains about the seamless mashing of eras and styles.

"The vintage dress is really my mum's and in fact, is not actually a dress but a jumpsuit that has really wide legs! My mum had it made from a Vogue Pattern. The flowers we wanted to keep wild and natural looking, inspired by flowers you could imagine being collected from a garden. Lastly, we had Jewellery from Sophie Hooper Jewellery. Sophie lives on the Isles of Scilly and uses the sea, sand and granite to shape her pieces. Its all very individual and if there is a beach that is special to you she can use the sand and other elements from that beach to make your jewellery special to you."
