Georgia and Conor have Tinder to thank for bringing them together in 2019. Fast forward a few years and Conor chose the wildly romantic backdrop of Dartmoor to propose. “I was distracted looking at some sheep,” laughs Georgia. “I turned around and there he was – down on one knee. It was incredibly sweet.”

The couple quickly fell for the secluded rural charm of The Green, nestled on the edge of Bodmin Moor, and set their sights on a July wedding. Inspired by the season, sunflowers became the golden thread running through the styling, featuring in the bouquets and floral arrangements, while lemons brought bursts of zesty colour to the stationery and tablescapes. “We took inspiration from dark greens and yellows,” says Georgia. The bridesmaids wore emerald green dresses, while layered shades of yellow added depth to the foliage-filled tables adorned with lemons, gin bottles glowing with fairy lights and playful pompom details set against green linens and acrylic place settings.

Georgia’s whimsical gown, featuring a delicate lace bodice and airy tulle skirt, struck the perfect balance between relaxed and romantic, while Conor looked every bit the part in his Royal Navy uniform.

The couple exchanged vows inside the venue’s characterful Wedding Barn beneath exposed beams woven with ivy and twinkling fairy lights. “Our registrar really got to know us both and made the day feel so special,” says Georgia.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds made their exit through a shower of pompoms in shades of green and yellow before joining guests for drinks on the lawn. A feast of bruschetta, roast beef and lemon sole followed, with sticky toffee pudding and crème brûlée providing a suitably indulgent finale.

Guests were entertained by a live illustrator painting portraits throughout the day – though it was an impromptu pompom fight during the meal that became one of the standout moments. “Some of our guests decided to start a pompom fight with the decorations,” says Georgia. “It got incredibly competitive!”

As the sun began to dip behind the surrounding hills, Georgia and Conor slipped away for a few quiet moments together. “Our favourite moment was having photos taken at sunset, just the two of us,” she reflects. “It gave us a chance to step away from the hustle and bustle for a little while.”

Rejoining their guests, the couple opened the dance floor with Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez. “Conor was keen for everyone else to join in quickly because he hates dancing!” laughs Georgia. A DJ then kept the celebrations going late into the night.

Looking back on the experience, the couple’s advice to other engaged couples is simple: “Be organised – it’s never too early to start researching suppliers. Ask friends and families for support wherever they can help because it can become overwhelming. And finally, make sure you plan a little time in the day for just the two of you.”
