For years, Amber and Nathan told friends and family they met through mutual mates – but the real story? “We actually met on a dating app,” Amber laughs. “We just clicked straight away.” That instant connection evolved into a lifelong promise during their babymoon in Venice, while Amber was pregnant with their first child, Oakley. "We were in a quiet corner of a Venetian palace-turned-museum when he got down on one knee and asked me to make our family complete by becoming his wife. I was completely shocked – and obviously said yes!”
Their wedding weekend took place at Kilminorth, a secluded retreat near Cornwall’s south coast, where they celebrated with friends and family over three unforgettable days. “We love festivals and knew that we wanted to incorporate some festival style into our wedding,” says Amber.
Their aesthetic was full of personality, combining earthy florals with a pink and green palette and playful details. “Pink has always been my favourite colour,” she says. “Even as a little girl, I said my bridesmaids would wear pink – and they did!” The couple scattered disco balls throughout the venue for a party-meets-boho vibe, while a pink campervan photo booth added retro charm.
The festivities began with a relaxed Friday barbecue and lawn games. “The heavens opened,” laughs Amber. “That night, I planted a sausage in a plant pot – it’s a wedding superstition – and it worked! The wedding day was glorious, with beautiful sunny skies.”
The sun shone brightly as the couple said ‘I do’ in a heartfelt outdoor ceremony. A string trio set the tone as guests arrived. The bridesmaids – and the couple’s beloved dog, Gypsy – walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun, before Amber made her entrance to Until I Found You. “Before we knew it, we were officially a married couple!” They exited the ceremony to All You Need is Love, inspired by Amber’s favourite film, Love Actually.
Then came a moment that will stay with them forever as a robin appeared during the ceremony and followed them back up the aisle. “Our son, Oakley, passed away and we associate robins with him,” says Amber. “It truly felt like he was with us in that moment.”
The reception included canapés and drinks on the lawn, with garden games, vibrant florals and a laidback, celebratory spirit. Guests feasted on curries followed by pizzas in the evening, and the newlyweds shared their first dance to Baby I’m Yours by Arctic Monkeys. “We had practised our spins in the kitchen in the weeks before,” smiles Amber. “It was so much fun just spinning around!” A space hopper race in full wedding attire proved to be a highlight for the couple.
The weekend wrapped with a lazy Sunday of bacon sandwiches, another barbecue and watching England play in the Euros. “It was the best end to the best weekend of our lives,” says Nathan. “The evening ended with a firepit, finishing off the remaining drinks and spending time with our friends and family.”
Looking back, the couple agree that seeing each other on the day – and soaking up the love around them – were standout moments. “The speeches were amazing,” says Amber. “But it was also just looking around and realising we were surrounded by all our favourite people.”
They have some wise words for other couples. “Things will probably go wrong – and you won’t care,” says Amber. “Just soak in every second. Don’t rush it. And if you can stretch it into a weekend, go for it! It truly was the best weekend of our lives.”
