Oriental Styled Shoot

Inspired by Japan's sakura season, when the streets and parks of the Far East are awash with pink cherry blossom, this styled shoot is brimming with delicate florals, the palest of pinks and the most romantic of details to create an enchanting spring wedding scene.

Echoing the gorgeous bouquet, the tablescape is styled with pretty pink hues, offset with accents of aqua. Soft petals spill from cut-glass vases, while the Far Eastern mood is evoked by bamboo cutlery, a carnival of origami cranes ' a powerful symbol of love and fidelity in Japanese legend ' and decorative hand fans decorated with cherry blossom. The stationery also draws on the Japanese flora, capturing the blush pinks, sage greens and fresh whites to complement the romantic mood.

'The blossom theme is followed through in the flowing dress, with hints of pink and petals in the design, for a modern and western twist on the wedding dress,' Jennifer says of the gorgeous gown embellished with cascading petals. A stunning classic updo and a bejewelled hairpiece add a further touch of elegance.

Outside, the blossom is in full bloom: the perfect backdrop for a just-wed couple. 'I used apple blossom to give the same feel as cherry blossom, working with a venue, Pennard House, that had its own orchards,' says Jennifer. 'It is a shoot that is designed to be soft and romantic in its feel, just like the sakura season itself.'
