Nestled amongst leafy countryside and flower-filled gardens, Deer Park Country House sets the scene for a light-filled shoot with the glorious shades of spring at its heart.
'I decided on the concept of a florist's studio and knew that Deer Park Country House would be the perfect venue,' says photographer Tara Statton, who organised the shoot. 'We're lucky to be surrounded by so much countryside in Devon, and the gardens at Deer Park are always filled with the most beautiful blooms, seasonal home-grown fruit and vegetables, and lots of greenhouses in the Walled Garden.'
A captivating arrangement featuring buckets and pots of fresh flowers including pampas grass, roses, dahlias, hydrangeas and lots of foliage beautifully captures the florist's studio concept. Adding to the glorious natural aesthetic, a textured moongate creates a stunning backdrop for a rustic table styled with a lilac hand-dyed silk runner, and delicate stems and petals, while watercolour stationery and modern calligraphy place names echo the pretty hues.
Based on the concept of a flower cart, the cake table is a gorgeous feature with its distressed wood, large bicycle wheels and array of potted plants and flowers. Nestled amidst the greenery, the sweet delights come in the form of hand-painted iced Mandolin cakes, petal-embellished doughnuts, sugar-dusted biscuits and buttercream cake.
From the soft '70s vibe of off-the-shoulder gowns, finished with florals and frills, to the pure romance of dresses dotted with buds and trailing with blossom, the bridal fashions from Kate Walker Bridal celebrate the flower theme in utterly beautiful style. A gold leaf beaded crown and floral comb add delicate botanical accents to the hairstyling, while a dewy and luminous complexion and pops of pink sing of fresh spring beauty.
