Born in Ireland, raised in the Japanese countryside and trained in jewellery-making in Mexico, Yumé Martin brings a rich tapestry of influences to her distinctive designs. From her studio boutique in Ashburton, she creates striking contemporary jewellery inspired by her upbringing, global travels, nature and mythology. Each piece is handcrafted alongside her close-knit team in the heart of South Devon.

An ethical approach underpins every collection. Crafted using Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold and silver, each piece is made with responsibly sourced materials, while gemstones and diamonds are selected from Fairtrade Gemstones. “I’m proud to create beautiful pieces and have a positive impact on the world,” says Yumé. “We feel safe in the knowledge that our jewellery does not come at a cost to those creating it or the environment.”

The natural world features throughout her collections, from delicate blossoms, honeybees and dragonflies to ocean-inspired designs celebrating shells, sea urchins, octopuses and seahorses. For lovers of understated elegance, her contemporary circle designs offer a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

From dazzling engagement rings to timeless wedding bands, Yumé’s wedding collections cater to every style. Discover texture-rich hawthorn and hedgerow designs adorned with delicate gemstones, alongside classic bands ranging from organically textured finishes to sleek, contemporary silhouettes.

For something truly personal, Yumé offers a bespoke service, working closely with couples to create rings that reflect their individual story. She also remodels heirloom jewellery, transforming treasured pieces into modern keepsakes with enduring sentimental value. Consultations take place in The Parlour, a welcoming space where couples can browse collections, explore ideas and bring their vision to life.

Wedding ring-making workshops offer a memorable way to make something uniquely your own. No previous experience is required; instead, couples are guided through the process of crafting their own gold wedding bands in a relaxed and creative setting. Complete with lunch at a nearby café and a celebratory glass of fizz, it’s a wonderfully personal experience – and a meaningful part of the wedding journey itself.
