GO YOUR OWN WAY

Forget cookie-cutter weddings – the ones we remember most are those where personality, passions and love story shine through every detail. This issue of Wed is brimming with inspiration to help you create a Devon celebration that’s beautiful, meaningful and unapologetically yours.

Our styled shoots showcase just how individual a wedding can be. La Dolce Vita whisks you to a sun-drenched Italian-inspired garden party at The Lost Music Hall in the South Hams, with tables overflowing with food and flowers. The Art of Romance frames Dartington Hall’s historic beauty with bespoke gowns crafted in nearby Torbay by Dandelions & Pearls – a gorgeously one-of-a-kind bridal statement. And for sea-loving souls, Tides of Elegance delivers dreamy coastal inspiration: a celebration by the water that’s effortlessly stylish and unmistakably you.

Our real weddings celebrate the beauty of making your day truly your own. Wayne and Oliver chose an intimate elopement beneath the cherry blossom at Brickhouse Vineyard. At Upton Barn, Emily and Adam wove in heartfelt touches — from yellow roses inspired by Emily’s late mother’s bouquet to confetti gathered from the gardens of loved ones. Phoebe and George went bold with a vibrant retro-inspired day filled with colour, playful styling and a ceremony to remember, while Jess and Holly brought their forest wedding dream to life at Ashridge Great Barn, with personal vows, music and magical performances.

If you’re dreaming of a ceremony that feels uniquely yours, Your Ceremony, Your Story offers expert advice from celebrants. With tented celebrations the height of bespoke style, The Art of the Tented Wedding offers inspiration for throwing the party of your life under canvas. Elsewhere in these pages you’ll find guidance on choosing a so-you wedding ring, Devon-made bridal jewels, stress-saving tips for tackling your guest list, ideas for entertaining little ones and expert insight on future-proofing your marriage.
