HAPPY DAYS!
After two years of uncertainty in the wedding world, it’s safe to say weddings are back – and wow, are they joyful! My inbox and social media feed have never been so full of incredible weddings and the happiness is almost palpable in every photo. It’s been a long wait for some – and there’s a definite sense of couples grabbing life, cherishing love and really savouring the togetherness a wedding day brings. We’ve noticed other changes, too. Weddings are growing ever more personalised, guest experience is front and centre, sustainability is key, and the rulebook is well and truly being thrown out.
The spirit of the modern wedding movement weaves through these pages. Mediterranean Dreams brings the colours and laidback vibes of Ibiza to a Devon rural idyll, complete with an aerial acrobat, saxophonist and party-ready mood, while Modern Love sets the scene for a contemporary wedding where soft neutrals meet industrial accents. Natural Wonders draws inspiration from the rolling hills and flower-filled meadows of new wedding venue Holwell Farmhouse – a perfect canvas for couples dreaming of marrying their love for the outdoors with their love for each other in a tucked-away corner of Devon.
This issue’s Got Wed is full of couples who sprinkled their personalities and passions into their weddings. We love how Fay and Will threw out the rulebook for their festival celebrations on the edge of Dartmoor, filling their day with brilliantly personal touches, homemade décor and a carnival of colour. Harri and Doug painted their country wedding with their favourite colours and served their favourite meal (pie!) while the anthem for their day was inspired by the TV show Schitt’s Creek. And ocean-loving pair Laura and Hugh married barefoot on the cliffs of North Devon before paddleboarding around the headland for their big confetti moment!
