The Tythe Barn delivers all the drama of a classic barn wedding, with soaring oak beams, stone walls and a spectacular vaulted roof, while the Watermill offers a more intimate atmosphere, complete with an ancient working waterwheel and picturesque private gardens.

Add far-reaching Somerset views, excellent food and an experienced team who have been hosting weddings here since 1992, and couples have all the ingredients for a celebration that feels both polished and wonderfully relaxed.

The Tythe Barn

Dating from the 1720s, the stone-walled Tythe Barn makes a spectacular setting for larger celebrations. Guests arrive through a rose-covered arch and follow a lavender-lined path through the gardens before stepping inside the beautifully restored barn.

The main space is defined by oak-beamed rafters and a dramatic 15-metre-high vaulted roof. It can accommodate up to 150 seated guests, transforming from ceremony space to wedding breakfast before welcoming up to 200 for the evening celebrations.

Alongside it, the cosy Parlour provides another characterful space for reception drinks, coffee or simply escaping to a sofa beside the cast-iron stove.

The Watermill

For a more intimate celebration, the ancient Watermill is steeped in history. The mill was given to the monks of Bath Abbey by King Athelstan in the 10th century and its working waterwheel, historic machinery and countryside views give weddings here a character all their own.

The ceremony space on the second floor is licensed for up to 90 guests, while the private gardens provide a beautiful setting for drinks and photographs.

On fine days, couples can also exchange their vows outside beneath the oak pagoda, surrounded by manicured lawns, a flower-covered pergola and the gentle sounds of the water.

A feast to remember

Food is an important part of the Priston Mill experience, with an experienced in-house team of chefs creating everything from canapés to the wedding breakfast.

Couples can choose a traditional set-menu approach or embrace something more sociable with a sharing feast served to the tables on platters and boards. Quality ingredients and generous hospitality sit at the heart of the menus, with plenty of choice to shape the food around the style of the celebration.

Stay at the Mill

Newly restored for 2026, Priston Mill’s Farmhouse brings onsite accommodation to the venue, allowing couples to keep some of their closest friends and family nearby after the celebrations.

Five individually styled double bedrooms sit within the Farmhouse, while the accessible Coach House provides a sixth en-suite bedroom. The following morning, guests can gather again over breakfast – a lovely way to extend the wedding beyond the day itself.

Start the day in style

Couples marrying in the Tythe Barn can also make use of the Hayloft on the morning of the wedding.

Designed as a relaxed getting-ready space, it has plenty of room for hair and make-up, large mirrors, comfortable seating and high hooks for dresses. A breakfast hamper, tea, coffee and a bottle of Prosecco add to the sense that the celebrations have begun long before the ceremony.
